CHOCOLATES A LA CARTE Wins National Small Business
Award
CHOCOLATE A LA CARTE is proud to announce that is was one of
four small business nationally to be selected for "The
Blue Chip Enterprise Initiative." The award "seeks
out and honors small businesses that have overcome challenges
and emerged stronger." It is sponsored by Connecticut Mutual,
the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Nation's Business magazine.
The company was selected from hundreds of applications from
every region of the U.S. because of major damage that the company
sustained during the January 17, 1994 Los Angeles Earthquake.
Throughout the crisis and the clean-up, Chocolates a la Carte
and its employees rallied and didn't miss sending out one customer
order.
Rena
and Rick Pocrass were honored at a nationally teleconferenced
awards dinner and luncheon in Washington D.C. in late February.
As a result of winning this prestigious award, Chocolates a
la Carte will be featured in Nation's Business magazine and
a "First Business" television segment, a national
news program for small business. Also, the company's story about
its earthquake recovery will be part of the 1996 edition of
the book, Insights and Inspiration: How Businesses Succeed.
Chocolates a la Carte would like to thank all of its employees,
customers and friends that helped and supported the company
during the challenging rebuilding period.
